Taking the Lead on the Road to Net Zero


Vested began working with MSCI at the beginning of 2021 as the business started its journey to be recognized as a leader in the sustainability, ESG and climate change debates. We were tasked with building a corporate position on these topics and implementing a high-volume media campaign to demonstrate that position through corporate announcements and external news events.


Working alongside the in-house communications team, we developed a central message calling for the systematic transformation of capital markets to avoid a climate catastrophe. To support this new narrative, we announced MSCI’s net-zero pledge and launched a global report that outlined the steps asset owners, asset managers, banks and companies need to take to reach ambitious net-zero goals.


The launch of the global report resulted in coverage across MSCI’s platinum titles, as well as broadcast and podcast interviews for MSCI’s C-suite.

In continued support of MSCI’s position on this topic, we have kept the momentum going by building a reactive program, leveraging its ESG research as well as commenting on topics such as President Biden’s Executive Order and developments in the emissions space.
