Someone Who Overcame Living Paycheck to Paycheck

For this standalone feature, we’re looking to spotlight someone who was once living paycheck to paycheck, but eventually recharged their finances by going through their budget and doing the following three things: 1) Looking for money wasted. Ex) bank fees, unused subscriptions. 2) Finding areas where you were overspending, like a cable bill, then negotiated down. 3) Thinking hard about what to sacrifice now to make a big difference later. Ex) downsizing your car or home, taking on a roommate, other trade-offs. We want to relate to readers who are living paycheck to paycheck and don’t think there are obvious places to scale back.
