I’m honored to announce that Vested is a finalist for the PR News Agency Elite Awards in the category of financial communications. This recognition is a testament to the hard work of our people and the effectiveness of our approach.
The work the publication has recognized is our “The Business of Star Wars” campaign done in conjunction with Citadel.
Across the board, our staff worked extraordinarily hard to develop and execute the concept. What’s unique about this campaign is that it brought together separate tactics that are usually done in relative isolation. The campaign relied on newsjacking. It relied on the creation of a unique, visually accessible digital environment. It relied on our ability to shape messages and to obtain meaningful press coverage.
Perhaps most importantly, it needed to come in on time and on budget to accommodate the release of the film — which, as anyone who works in a creative capacity can probably tell, is a familiar challenge.
Furthermore, it can be challenging to truly show the human side of an institution, particularly one of the world’s largest hedge funds. This is an issue because, even in an industry dominated by algorithms, a hedge fund’s people are its primary assets. One objective of Vested’s work with Citadel was to showcase the people who make this historically successful fund tick, and to do so in an accessible, entertaining way. This required the right content and an increase in website visits to demonstrate impact. The campaign met both of these goals.
Not many account teams get to develop and execute consumer-like campaign for a B2B client. We were thrilled with the opportunity to do this and we’re grateful for the industry recognition.
Sponsored by BusinessWire, the PR News Agency Elite Awards ceremony will be held on Oct. 19 at the Marriott Marquis in New York City.
