Need advice on sustainable investing

I’m looking for financial advisors, securities analysts, academics and fund managers with tips on the best ways to invest in sustainable energy. Other than wind, solar and geothermal, what would you include? Electric car companies? Trash to energy? Energy efficient appliance makers? Which investments have done the best in recent years, and which seem most promising now? Should investors be discouraged by Republican policies? Do fossil fuel investments look more promising? For which investors are these options most suited? And who should stay away? Should you expect to sacrifice some return to support sustainable energy? Do you like individual stocks, funds or ETFs? Which ones? What should one look for to be sure a fund is living up to the label? How much of a portfolio should be devoted to these holdings? What else should I be asking? Requirements: I prefer responses by email containing usable content and quotes, and because I usually get so many I rarely use ones that merely offer a source for interview. Please include the source’s contact info, full name, title, firm and location.
