Challenging conventional wisdom: The value of communicating with automatically enrolled participants so that they understand the value of saving for retirement and appreciate the benefit being offered to them. Or, perhaps, it is a better move to not automatically enroll participants in the first place so that they “set it and forget it” but1, rather to try to get them actively engaged with their retirement plan and make decisions? We know that many employers are also embracing financial wellness programs to help employees manage their budgets and save more for retirement. How are advisers helping plan sponsors challenge conventional wisdom?
