A new study shows the median overdraft fee for checking accounts is $35, and the average college student overdrafts 2.2 times per year. With over 11 million full-time undergrads as of 2016, this could mean more than $722 million annually in overdraft fees. That’s an increase of almost $19 million over last year. They are paying millions more for late fees. I want to hear from certified financial planners and other financial experts, especially from Long Island the NYC metro area.
