I’m pitching an article to NY Mag’s Science of Us section, specifically based on data found in Equifax’s forthcoming consumer survey about credit knowledge and consumer habits. The angle of my story is finance and fear to answer a few questions: Are we afraid of the topic of finance and credit? Why might consumers avoid money management even if they have the funds to support their lifestyle? Is there comfort in intentional ignorance? What is the best way to learn about/retain credit and finance knowledge?Requirements: Understanding the psychology of financial management is my goal. Psychologists are preferred. Also, financial/wealth management sources with evidence to support their perspective of the topic.
