Last month, we announced the appointment of Amber Roberts as the CEO of our professional services practice. There’s a lot that makes her #fullyvested. She has more than 15 years’ experience in financial services communication — working on both high-stakes companies within banking, private equity, asset management and insurance, as well as creative consumer campaigns. Her style mirrors those of our other leaders, and her dedication to growing our consultative offerings and our client base will pave the way for Vested’s next chapter of our expansion.

In just one month, Amber’s already made quite the impact — winning over new clients, helping overhaul our internal account management process, and bringing new insight and attention to our inbound marketing efforts, our new business philosophy and process, and our overall growth strategy. What are you most looking forward to in this new role?

Taking Vested as far as possible with the most talented people in the industry at my side.

 

Where do you get your news?

A mix, from traditionals (NYT, WSJ, FT) to newsletters (Fortune Term Sheet, American Banker’s daily) to quick downloads like The Skimm, Need2Know and Pinstripe Alley (go Yanks!).

 

What topic or area of finance needs the greatest makeover?

Fintech.

 

How has your personal history shaped your professional trajectory?

My personal experiences have taught me to keep taking risks, but never take anything or anyone for granted.

 

What jargon-y term needs to go?

Disruption… and pivot.

My father, an egoless man who made every person he came in contact with feel important.

Laziness.

“Dog-friendly dining UWS” (any New Yorker with a dog would understand).

 

What do you do better than 90% of people?

I make a mean Old Fashioned.
