Since day one, we have never backed away from a straightforward belief: The future of the communications field lies in technology and in data – specifically, in using software and data as the foundation upon which firms build scalable processes and execute valued services.
Which is why I’m beyond thrilled to announce that Vested has appointed Kevin Trowbridge, a Silicon Valley veteran, as Chief Technology Officer. As CTO, Kevin will oversee the development of Vested’s proprietary PR solutions and drive efficiency into our professional services offerings.
Kevin, who has significant experience as both a software developer and a project manager, has held leading roles at numerous startups, including The Bold Italic, An Event Apart, Creative Bug, Wheelz, HitRecord, and Ariba. “Throughout my career I’ve been fortunate enough to work with a number of companies who have reinvented their category,” he said in the statement we put out today. “Vested is on a similar mission in communications and I believe the PR industry is ripe for technological disruption.”
Automation, artificial intelligence, and machine learning technologies help professionals in many industries work more efficiently and focus on strategy rather than executing tasks, and the same potential is there for the communications field. As our craft continues to change, being among the first firms to truly commit to maximizing the potential of modern technology will pay dividends for us and for our clients.
This hire continues our strategy of identifying and filling roles adjacent to and complementary of our core set of services, integrated communications. In 2015, we hired Ali Wells as chief creative officer and in 2016 retained Milton Ezrati as chief economist. In 2017, we hired Eric Hazard as CEO of Vested Ventures, our investment division.
This is the next step in the agency’s growth, and we’re excited about what the future holds.
