Over time, several companies have been discovered fudging their numbers or otherwise using fraudulent schemes. In recent years, Valeant Pharmaceuticals –VRX– is probably the most notable offender, but in the past Enron was the most famous example. Other stocks like HLF and FIZZ have been accused of irregularities but nothing’s been proven yet; what are some ways for investors to tell that there may be some irregularities before it’s too late?
