I’m interested in hearing from financial planners, personal finance experts, and clients of financial planners on if it is fair game, relevant, or beneficial for a potential client to ask about an advisor’s financial situation to determine whether to work with them. If you think it’s not beneficial, explain why not. If you think it is beneficial, what questions do you think would be most helpful to hone in on and what may not be as helpful to ask. If you’re a financial planner that has been asked about your own financial situation by prospective clients, how have you responded? Requirements: Please include your name, title, company name, and relevant link, as you would like it to appear in the article. Also include your Twitter and Facebook information so they can be tagged when the article goes live. Lastly, include any other relevant credentials.
